Just before you enter the Roaring Forks Motor Trail you will find the homestead of Noah “Bud” Ogle. His house is an authentic 19th century Southern Appalachian Mountain farmstead that is surrounded by a beautiful hardwood forest. The fall day I photographed the house it had been raining which gave the rocks a soft dark color and left many leaves laying on the ground. If it had rained much harder, I dare to say all of the leaves would have been on the ground and the trees would have been bare. So lucky to be photographing at the house before all the leaves were gone!
